Happy Birthday Shiloh!
Today is not Shiloh's birthday. His birthday was almost 3 weeks ago but I have been a slacker blogger. I just hit a slump but I wanted to post about his Birthday because it was so much fun and I finally did it right.
First you need to know a few things about us. I HATE!! February. It is always are very tightest month, there is never any extra money to do any thing fun and then it is topped off by the pressure of valentines and Shiloh's birthday. Usually very little if any thing gets done for these to holidays and it make me crazy. Well this year I thought and planned ahead. (I know, so not like me.) We still didn't do much for Valentines day but Shi's birthday was awesome.
For Christmas most of Shiloh's family got gift certificates to the Olive Garden at the time we mentioned that it would be fun to all go together. A week or so latter Shiloh said it would be fun if everyone could go out to dinner together for his birthday. I didn't say much but I made a mental note of this. I week or two before his birthday I started talking to his family without Shiloh knowing if they wanted to do this for his birthday. Luckily everyone still had there gift card and were on board. I just told Shiloh that we would be celebrating his birthday on Friday and I wouldn't tell him anything else. He new we had no money the gift card was actually mine so he had forgotten about it and he knew nothing of the extra $20 I had been hiding in my wallet for a month, it covered the extra cost of bring the kids (they had to go to dad's birthday party) .
When he got home I was cleaning the house like people were coming over so that is what he figured was happening but then I told him we would be leaving in 20 minutes and he needed to get ready. As we were leaving,thinking that we might have to wait outside the restaurant for a while I made him go back and get his coat. He couldn't figure out what we were doing. When we pulled up at he restaurant he remembered we had the gift card and was excited to go out to eat but the real surprise came when we walked in the restaurant and almost his whole family was there.
We had so much fun eating dinner all together and then we headed back to our house for cheese cake and games. After, Shiloh kept telling me how much fun that was. He liked looking forward to the idea of doing something but not knowing what it was. I guess when you are use to nothing a little something goes a long way. Thank to all the Sampsons that were willing to come celebrated Shiloh's birthday with us and Happy Birthday Baby your awesome and we love you!!
