Coming Back

I just wanted to let you all know. I haven't given up the blogging world I just havent been home for a whole day in so long I can't remember and I'm just about to headed out of town for a few more days. Some day life will return to normal. Right????

So I hope to return with lots of pictures and lots of post. ;)

Being Cheep and Brave

There had been a lot of fighting and tears about doing someones hair at our house lately and I thought it might be time for Lizzy to get a haircut but I had a dilemma. If we were going to cut her hair I didn't want it to just be a straight blunt cut but I'm also cheep and didn't so much want to pay for a haircut. I would rather use that money for Christmas. So being cheep I got brave and did it myself.

I knew what I wanted it to look like when it was done so I went to work and gave her a little stacked bob. While it is far from perfect I thought I did a pretty good job for my first try. Next time I will try and stack it a little more and maybe make it a little more a-lined.

Also to note, I gave this hair cut almost a week ago and the crying over getting her hair done has stopped. Mission Accomplished!!!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a success! As previously posted I was hosting Thanksgiving this year at my house. The week before I did so much cleaning and de-junking that the garbage can that I had ran down the street the week before in my pjs to make sure got emptied was filled to over flowing before the party ever started, so even though the garbage man came on Saturday we still have garbage in our garage. Hopefully it will all go out on Friday or we might have to make a trip to the dump but on to more important things then the garbage.

Everyone brought food but my parents showed up early and ran with me through the whole process of hosting. Are you ready for the final count of how many people we had at Thanksgiving dinner? drum roll please ..... 53 people!!! ate Thanksgiving dinner in my unfinished basement.

They laughed, they visited, they feasted on all the yummy food, but still didn't eat enough because we had tons left over and I ran up and down the stairs 500 times I may be the only person that actually lost weight on Thanksgiving, just kidding. I did finally get to set down and eat but it was a very busy, very good day and I have a greater respect for my parents and my aunts and uncles who do this kind of stuff for our expanding family all the time. Thank you! thank you! thank you!

One of things that amazed me was how our cozy little house for 5 seamed to so lovingly open, expanded and find room to host such a crowd. As the number of people coming seamed to grow each day I kept thinking how is my sweet little house going to fit all these people and yet when the day came and people started arriving everyone fit with room to move and mingle we even had elbow room at the dinner table.

Thanksgiving was also my dad's birthday. Happy Birthday Dad! Then we proceeded with the after turkey veg out. Football was on, people we visiting and if you look closely you will see adds scattered over the floor. There were several of us, including me and my cute hubby, that were planning on being up early for "Black Friday." So after doing dishes several times (thanks to all those how helped) we were off to bed. Friday morning we were up early and off shopping. It didn't seam like there was as many great deals this but we still used this time to get a bunch of Christmas shopping done without the kiddos around.

Than most of the rest of the weekend was spent hanging out on the couch watching movies and napping. We got direct t.v. a few weeks ago and have been taping all sorts of movies on our d.v.r. and loving it. We did have a omelet breakfast with everyone at my parents house on Saturday morning. It was a last meal request of sorts. My very cute cousin Chantelle leaves for the Washington D.C. south mission in February and this was something she really wanted to have before she left. Good luck Chantelle and Happy Thanksgiving to all I always have so much to be thankful for!
