We should not underestimate or overlook the power of the Lord’s tender mercies. The simpleness, the sweetness, and the constancy of the tender mercies of the Lord will do much to fortify and protect us in the troubled times in which we do now and will yet live. When words cannot provide the solace we need or express the joy we feel, when it is simply futile to attempt to explain that which is unexplainable, when logic and reason cannot yield adequate understanding about the injustices and inequities of life, when mortal experience and evaluation are insufficient to produce a desired outcome, and when it seems that perhaps we are so totally alone, truly we are blessed by the tender mercies of the Lord and made mighty even unto the power of deliverance (see 1 Ne. 1:20).

Kids Say......

The other day the girls were cleaning up from doing some painting and I was listening to them from the other room. ShiAnne was trying to hurry and said, "I need to go my hiney in gear." The Lizzy in her sweetest little girl voice while giggling say, "I love it when you say hiney."

The girls like all kids there age like to make cards and note but often don't know how to spell what they want to say. So of course, they will ask me how to spell it and then I will tell them letter by letter how to spell it. When they are finished writing down one letter they will ask, "what's next?" and I will tell them the next letter. Gideon also likes to play this game. Being two he doesn't know how to write any of his letter but he will get a piece of paper and a pencil and ask me, "what's next?" I will tell him a letter and he will draw a circle or a scribble and then ask me, "mom what's next?" I have decided this may be great way to teach him to spell his name. So when we play this game I always spell out his name for him. I don't know if it is working but at least he feels like he is every bit as big as the girls.

Santa Clause

Both of these faces say it all.

Yet every day he plays with the toy Santa brought him. I don't think he really believes it is from Santa.
But some of us actually were nice......
.....and we got just what we asked for.
One more time at School just for good measure.

Snow Faces

Playing in the snow. Look at these happy faces.

After playing for awhile, I went outside and asked Gideon if he was cold? He told me, "no, the snow is cold, I happy!" What a cutie.

That face! I just can't resist that face!

If you look really close you may notice that Gideon has on pink and white boots and pink gloves. That is what happens when you have two older sisters. He couldn't have cared less.

Making snow flakes takes a lot of concentration. Just look at these faces.

Gideon didn't actually make any snow flakes. He just kept cutting the paper into little tinny pieces but he was happy as could be just to be included.

Enjoy The Snow!

An Afternoon at Home

After not working at all last week Shiloh is back at work today. Yippee! I got up early this morning and got all my house cleaning done because the visiting teacher were coming over. The rest of the after noon was left wide open to anything we could think of doing as long as we stayed at home and spent no money.

The kids had a Dance Party. Dancing to the awesome music of nothing less then High School Musical 1.

Some cute pics of the kids at their dance party.

I decided to make some banana bread with the banana's that were over ripening on my counter. Mmmmmm!!!
I think now it is time to go eat. Enjoy your day.

December

December was busy month and we didn't let mom play on the computer much so now that most the excitement is over we thought we would give her a hand catching up.

We drove through the lights at Thanksgiving point so we didn't have to get cold but then we had to venture out so we could get a good look at Santa's reindeer.

Then we went as we do every year to Grandma and Grandpa's ward Christmas party. Grandpa Belly Pie and Mom cooked omelets and us kids got to talk to Santa Clause.

We had to torture Gideon just a little bit after all Mom and Dad did it to Lizzy and me.

Then it Started snowing and snowing and snowing and snowing but luckily for us the first day we could really go out and play Dad got home just in time to help us build a snow man and it was good snowman snow.

On Christmas Eve we made sugar cookies and ginger bread cookies. By this point I was starting to worry that mom was going to skip this most important part of Christmas.

But that night we were soooo excited we had to have a dance party just to work off some of the extra energy.

Latter sense we are smart enough now to know the Christmas Eve present is pajamas mom and dad made us work for it by sending us on a scavenger hunt for our presents but I guess it was all worth it because we got some awesome princess pajamas but Gideon got Handy Many, he really like him, he can even say his name. (Don't tell mom and dad but it was actually a lot of fun.) This is us with our Uncle Stance and Aunts Phylicia and OrLynne.

We left Grandma and Grandpa's late that night ready for a good night sleep but when we woke up boy were we surprised! Santa had been there and we were ready to open presents. Mom won with the biggest present an new office chair but I got the camera I had been so wanting and Lizzy got her baby doll she had been asking for, she named her Lucy. Dad got a funny present a new shower head but found out he really loves it. After we got done at our house we went back to Grandma Debbie's and Grandpa Blair's for breakfast and more presents.

Then we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Belly Pie's where we opened more presents. We basically spent mos tour day opening presents and now mom and Dad say we are spoiled they are probably right but don't tell them I said so.

To top of the month and maybe the year I finally let mom pull out my lose tooth the has been wiggly forever. It was my first one and I was very excited. I think I might let her pull out the other really wiggly one soon.

We did some fun stuff for New Years eve too but we will have to try and tell you about that latter. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and 2008 and that 2009 will be even better!!!! I think I'll turn the key board back over to my mom now. See ya Latter!

Blessings

Productive Wonderful Saturdays: On Saturday I cleaned up the house while Shiloh cleaned out the garage then we cleaned out the car together. I cut my boys hairs and we snuck in a nap after which we headed to Shiloh's parents house. Then while all the boys did the baby sitting the girls got to go to Women's Conference, out to dinner at the Pizza Factory and dessert at Maggie Moo's. The boys thought they might get to play a game of Settlers but they soon learned what life is like when you have all the kids around and try to get anything done. It was a good dose of our reality for them.

Women's Conference: All the talks were wonderful but I really love President Uchtdorf. Just after President Uchtdorf was first called my mom and I went went to Women's Conference at BYU together and he spoke in the opening devotional he told us his story and we fell in love with him. It was an awesome talk and he has never disappointed sense. I really connected with his idea of creating things. It was wonderful to be spiritually feed and now I can't wait for next weekend and the feast.

The perfect weather: all month we have been have a beautiful Indian Summer. It cooled down from the intense summer heat on the first day of the month but it has stayed warm with highs in the 70s and 80s all month long. To me this is the most perfect weather.

Shiloh home for lunch: this week Shiloh had several jobs near our house and I got to have him home for lunch three time this week. What a nice little treat.

Kids: I thought I should give props to my kids this week they are awesome.

ShiAnne is just a sweetheart that is almost always willing to help me. She is also doing so good at school and getting tons better at reading and spelling.

Lizzy, I know I have said several times before that Lizzy is my hardest kid but that has all changed. In the last month or month and a half Lizzy has done a great turn around. The whining is almost completely gone. (I mean every kid is going to whine a little or maybe your don't ?) She is so happy and sweet lately I am just loving her up right now!

Gideon, decided to take up Lizzy's whining though, but I'll give it to him he has been teething all month just to get two teeth, that is only number 7 and 8. It seams like they take forever to come in poor boy. Then everything he wants to play with he can't (like the phones, remotes and computer) and we try to put things where he can't get them but somehow he figures out how to get them and then we spend the whole day taking everything away from him. Yes, he has figured out how to climb and how to move the stole around so he can reach things he should not be able to reach. What a stage we are in right now. He is most happy when we leave the house. We love him though,0 he is learning so many things right now and at times he can be so funny and happy with that big Shiloh grin that takes up his whole face. I love that grin!!!!

It is finally here!!!!!
ShiAnne has been anxiously awaiting this day, the first day of school.
