We should not underestimate or overlook the power of the Lord’s tender mercies. The simpleness, the sweetness, and the constancy of the tender mercies of the Lord will do much to fortify and protect us in the troubled times in which we do now and will yet live. When words cannot provide the solace we need or express the joy we feel, when it is simply futile to attempt to explain that which is unexplainable, when logic and reason cannot yield adequate understanding about the injustices and inequities of life, when mortal experience and evaluation are insufficient to produce a desired outcome, and when it seems that perhaps we are so totally alone, truly we are blessed by the tender mercies of the Lord and made mighty even unto the power of deliverance (see 1 Ne. 1:20).

Disapponting News

When I went to my doctors appointment Wednesday and they could not find the baby's heartbeat so I spent Wednesday night in the hospital delivering a baby that was only 13-14 weeks along. It looks like I lost the baby right after my 13 week appointment. I had to be induced and actually deliver the baby. A week and a half earlier and it would have been a D and C but we were just to far along. I only had to dilate to a three. It was all done with cervical medicine and they said it was going to be more painful then I found it to be. I never needed any pain medicine. My heat hurt more then my body. Afterwards we actually got to see the baby. It was all there, only in teeny tiny miniature form, all its toes and fingers its mouth and nose. It was 4 inches long and weighed 19 grams or 0.6 of an once. It was pretty amazing. Physically I am doing fine and emotionally we will get there. We are really disappointed we were really looking forward to this baby but we know things will work out.

I am so sorry Ina. Let me know if I can do anything for you. I may be in Kansas but I can always listen over a phone.
