We should not underestimate or overlook the power of the Lord’s tender mercies. The simpleness, the sweetness, and the constancy of the tender mercies of the Lord will do much to fortify and protect us in the troubled times in which we do now and will yet live. When words cannot provide the solace we need or express the joy we feel, when it is simply futile to attempt to explain that which is unexplainable, when logic and reason cannot yield adequate understanding about the injustices and inequities of life, when mortal experience and evaluation are insufficient to produce a desired outcome, and when it seems that perhaps we are so totally alone, truly we are blessed by the tender mercies of the Lord and made mighty even unto the power of deliverance (see 1 Ne. 1:20).

Confessions of the previously exercise challenged....

....well I might still be somewhat challenged.
For the last four weeks, four days a week, these clothes have been my alli. Well maybe not these clothes exactly but these types of clothes. That is right for the last four weeks I have been working out and to make this a true confession I have to tell you that I haven't really worked out in the last four years. I have lots of good reasons, excuses and justifications for this but I won't bore you with those right now.
I finally found something that works for me at a time that works for me and I'm loving it. I've been working out with a group of ladies in my ward and some of their friends we meet right after we send the kids off to school (So I don't have to get up to exercise because I just can't seam to drag my bed loving self out of bed to exercise.) but it is before I get distracted with the rest of the stuff I need to do that day. I like that I'm working out with other people it makes it more fun for me and makes me push myself. I also like the new friendships I have made.
I didn't decide to do this to lose weight although if that happens it would be a really nice side effect but it was more about getting up and moving, moving so I have more energy, so I'm a better mom and wife, moving to be stronger and moving so that when I'm 60 I will still be able to move. The motivation came after several epiphanies I have had over the last year.
So, to answer your question, no according to the scale I haven't lost any weight but I do think my pants are fitting a little better and I have returned to the world of being able to do a push up. So losing weight or not losing weight I think I will keep doing it. (By the way I haven't changed anything about the way I have been eating. Maybe that will come along latter, when I'm not quite so moody. Yes I let my mood determine what I eat sometimes and sugar will be my life long nemesis.)
So now to the really point of this post. Sense I started working out I have been so sore. Does any have a remedy for really, really, no I mean really sore muscles. :) Really I need some help!!!!!
Signed, walking like an old lady.

Buy the drinks called Fuze. They are expensive and I only allow myself one when I have really worked out. But they have some ingredients that seem to work for me to keep me from being so sore.

congrats! that's a big accomplishment - hope it gives you the energy boost you want! (too bad sugar is your nemesis - avoiding sugar gives me the energy boost) sore muscles usually go away after you've done that type of exercise for awhile. But, I love a hot or cold pack (or rice pack) alternately or my really nice massager - my favorite!

Drink more water than you have ever drank in your whole life. You'll flush all the lactic acid right out. Proper stretching before and after the workout help a lot too.

I lifted weights on my legs last week, and the entire bottom half of my body was useless to me for nearly a week. It can be rough, especially when a lady has kids to lug around!

Joe swears what has helped him not feel that acidic pain is to drink a protein shake and eat a banana after every workout. (You can get Protein powder just about anywhere- even Walmart) I always thought that Protein shakes were for die hard weight lifting junkies- but that's not so... they really do the trick!
