Fire pit: We have great plans of one day having some sort of patio or deck in the back yard we even have a place waiting for it and a bank account waiting for the money to do it but sadly they both sit empty. So we just pull the fun portable fire pit out of our garage, set up some camp chairs on the drive way and go to town roasting hot dogs and marsh mellows. This is one of my girls favorite things to do. It is simple, it is at home, it doesn't really cost any extra money after the initial purchase of the fire pit and we have a lot of fun doing it.
Table Update: We spent the majority of our free Saturday working on the new table. It is coming along great, we will be having dinner parties in no time. Not all of the pictures were taken Saturday but here are some pic of how it is coming along.
puttieing the worst damage on the chairs, my saw dust feet the only proof that I have been working equally hard on this project, sanding off the old finish on the table.

Now the fun beings! We still have more sanding to do on the chairs but sanding is a very tedious jobs and the table was ready for the next step so we moved forward.
The white is a primer we used so we didn't have to sand off all the finish. We are staining the top a dark brown so it did have to be sanded clean. The black is the finish color of the table legs and the chairs. The last picture is the fabric we picked out (and got an awesome deal on) for the reupholstering of the chairs.

Don't be fooled into thinking we are even close to being done. We still have to put another coat of black on the table and stain the top. We need to finish sanding, priming and painting the chairs. we have to lacquer the whole project and do the actual reupholstering of the chair seats but it will be worth it in the end and we are still having fun.
