We should not underestimate or overlook the power of the Lord’s tender mercies. The simpleness, the sweetness, and the constancy of the tender mercies of the Lord will do much to fortify and protect us in the troubled times in which we do now and will yet live. When words cannot provide the solace we need or express the joy we feel, when it is simply futile to attempt to explain that which is unexplainable, when logic and reason cannot yield adequate understanding about the injustices and inequities of life, when mortal experience and evaluation are insufficient to produce a desired outcome, and when it seems that perhaps we are so totally alone, truly we are blessed by the tender mercies of the Lord and made mighty even unto the power of deliverance (see 1 Ne. 1:20).

Third Baby

I thought this would be kind of fun to do about all my pregnancies. It is something about being the fifth kid I don't like it when only the first on is important. So this one is about Gideon.

1. WAS YOUR PREGNANCY PLANNED? Yes

2. WERE YOU MARRIED AT THE TIME? Yes

3. WHAT WERE YOUR REACTIONS? I was very excited

4. WAS ABORTION AN OPTION FOR YOU? No, Never

5. HOW OLD WERE YOU? I was 26 when we found out I was pregnant and 27 when I had him.

6. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT YOU WERE PREGNANT? Home pregnancy test.

7. WHO DID YOU TELL FIRST? ShiAnne and Lizzzy. ShiAnne was very excited. We had a big family outing day. We went out to dinner that night and told the girl. The next day we had family pictures with Shiloh's family so we were going to have ShiAnne tell them when everyone was together but when we walk into Shiloh's parents house Amber was looking at the Sunday adds and ShiAnne promptly sat down next to her and said "I need to look through these I need to find something for mommy's new baby." So Amber, Shiloh's mom, maybe Phylicia new about it but they kept it a secret until family pictures.

8. DID YOU WANT TO FIND OUT THE SEX? Yes

9. DUE DATE? June 7

10. DID YOU HAVE MORNING SICKNESS? A little but not to bad. I was really, really, really tired.

11. WHAT DID YOU CRAVE? sleep

12. WHO/WHAT IRRITATED YOU THE MOST? I don't know.

13. WHAT WAS YOUR SECOND CHILD'S SEX? Boy

14. DID YOU WISH YOU HAD THE OPPOSITE SEX OF WHAT YOU WERE GETTING? no we were very excited to have a boy this time.

15. HOW MANY POUNDS DID YOU GAIN THROUGHOUT THE PREGNANCY? 30 or 35

16. DID YOU HAVE A BABY SHOWER? yes.

17. WAS IT A SURPRISE OR DID YOU KNOW? I knew

18. DID YOU HAVE ANY COMPLICATIONS DURING YOUR PREGNANCY? not even one hint of a problem.

19. WHERE DID YOU GIVE BIRTH? American Fork Hospital

20. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR? My water broke at home at 1 a.m. but I still wasn't in strong labor and i had him at 7:49 a.m. so almost 7 hours

21. WHO DROVE YOU TO THE HOSPITAL? Shiloh

22. WHO WATCHED YOU GIVE BIRTH? Shiloh, his mom and his Sister OrLynne.

23. WAS IT NATURAL OR C-SECTION? If natural means vaginal then yes, natural.

24. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN? Yes

25. HOW MUCH DID YOUR CHILD WEIGH? 7lbs 8oz

28. WHEN WAS YOUR CHILD ACTUALLY BORN ? May 31

28. WHAT DID YOU NAME YOUR CHILD? Gideon Kent

31. HOW OLD IS YOUR BABY BORN TODAY? He is 1 1/2.
